The syllabus develops around core concepts in the field of Earth and Life Sciences, allowing an approach based on the discussion of real life and actual topics, and the development of inquiry and science process skills.

Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's intended learning outcomes

Teaching methodologies are centered in students’ activities, both in individual and group work. emphasizing the discussion of real life and actual topics and the development of inquiry and science process skills.
The learning activities seek to involve students in building their own knowledge and stimulate their interest and curiosity about science. The activities emphasize the interpretation of phenomena of the natural world, the discussion of socio-scientific issues and the development of skills associated with scientific inquiry.

Assessment methodologies and evidences

The final assessment includes a written test and all the work developed during the learning activities (presentation of news, participation in debates, preparation of a laboratory notebook, reports of group practical activities).

Attendance system

Students must attend 70% of the practical classes.
